Wenona Marian Kelley is a published author, community advocate, mentor, teacher, and lifelong learner whose life and work are founded on a simple, yet compassionate purpose: leaving people better than she found them.

Known as Thee Scribe Warrior, Wenona writes to fight for the freedom of others. Her literary creations are informed by lived experience and decades of work, service, advocacy, faith, resilience, and a willingness to deposit truth on complexities from which liberation is often born. Whether writing, teaching, mentoring, advocating, encouraging, or serving in her community, she uses what she has learned and lived to help people heal, grow, discover themselves, and move forward. Her work is not merely about telling her story; it is about sharing that story to edify, inspire, and motivate individuals as they navigate their own.

Wenona is the founder of LOOSED, Inc., a nonprofit organization created to serve, empower, and strengthen people and communities through mentorship, outreach, and service. Her community work includes initiatives such as the LOOSED LoveTrain, while her professional advocacy allows her to support individuals and families impacted by domestic and intimate partner violence. Across these spaces, her approach remains consistent: meet people where they are, offer what she has to give, and leave them with something they can use.

At 57, nearly forty years after graduating from high school with college plans, Wenona returned to that path and became a first-time college student. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and English at Southern New Hampshire University, bringing decades of life, lessons, challenges, mistakes, work, service, resilience, and stories into the classroom with her. Her education is not the beginning of her work, but another dimension of it that gives academic language and strengthened craft to work she has already spent years carrying out.

Today, Wenona continues to write, teach, advocate, mentor, encourage, inspire, learn, and serve, bringing into each space the same conviction that has shaped her work from the beginning: our experiences become most valuable when we use them to help someone else.

She is still writing. Still learning. Still serving. And still fighting for freedom---one word, one person, and one community at a time.
